What’s Happening in Marion County

After creating an annual Christmas light show at their house for six years, the Lenhart family is bringing the festivities downtown in Fairmont for the Christmas Village and Light Show. The village will be built on the prominent greenspace in downtown, in front of the courthouse, with custom models of local businesses built by local university students. The entire scene will feature Christmas lights synced with music. The event is free, but donations to the local United Way are encouraged. The event begins Nov. 28 in conjunction with the Tree Lighting.

Wednesdays of the season will be walker nights. The park will be closed to traffic and you can enjoy the lights up close and personal.

Attendees park at Fairmont Federal Credit Union at the Gateway Connector and are shuttled into Morris Park.
The last shuttle will leave for the park at 9:00 p.m.

No parking is allowed at the park. Volunteers will guide you when you arrive on the shuttle.

2026: Join us for the 20th Annual Feast of the Seven Fishes and celebrate Christmas the italian Appalachian way in Downtown Fairmont! The Feast is back for its second year of a TWO DAY celebration on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12 from 10:00AM-6:00PM. Come enjoy a variety of food vendors serving your favorite Italian dishes along with other delicious choices. There will be live music and other festivities.
