I’ve been in Marion County for a couple days, and here are some facts I learned…
- The county is named after General Francis “Swamp Fox” Marion.
- It’s just two hours north of the state capital, Charleston and an hour and a half south of Pittsburgh.
- All 312 miles of Marion have so much to see!
- Its county seat, Fairmont, is called the “Friendly City.” The county has a population of 56,000 (mostly) friendly people!
- Marion County is close to Taylor, Harrison, Monongalia and Preston Counties – all the more adventuring!
